General background

ACPTIsrael ‘s annual Psychedelic Assisted Therapy program is designed to provide a broad theoretical base, and then proceed to experiential workshops with personal accompaniment (1 on 1) with ketamine. After that, we will learn how to create an appropriate therapeutic environment and delve into the details during the cannabis part of the training .

November 2024 – Introduction and Harm Reduction

In the first month of the program we will focus on getting to know each other and learning Harm Reduction.

Due to the personal and sensitive nature of the program, special emphasis will be placed on getting to know each other and quickly building trust between the participants.

The theoretical studies will focus on a harm reduction approach, which will allow reference to both therapeutic use and problematic use as well as addiction. We will explore the gap between therapeutic use by a professional and dangerous addiction, and we will examine tools for assessing risks and damages. In addition, we will learn the harm reduction approach in the clinic, known in Israel as psychedelic-informed therapy .

December 2024 – KAP

In December we will learn about KAP – Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy. After three weeks of theoretical and psychological preparation, we will gather for our first practical workshop at the end of December – 4 days in which there will be an opportunity to experience ketamine in a therapeutic setting and accompany a person under the influence of ketamine. A week after the workshop we will begin an integration process, where we will learn both from theory and from our personal experiences .

January-February 2025 – The move over to cannabis

In the first week of January we will continue the integration of the ketamine experience, with a special meeting that will deal with the art of integration. From the second week we will join the Medicinal Mindfulness team for their Psychedelic Guide Training program . Working with cannabis requires an emphasis on preparation, set and setting. During these two months we will learn, together with international students, how to prepare the patient, ourselves and the environment to build a safe container for this work. In addition to the basic studies of MM, we will participate in a therapist training program . MM has been operating a legal treatment center that has been working with plants within the framework of the law and professional responsibility for about fifteen years. The course also includes the practical side – from the required equipment to legal forms and professional support to ensure accountability.

March 2025 – Cannabis Intensive

In the second week of March we will gather for the second workshop. This workshop will be offered in two options – gathering in a central place or studying with MM from home. During the 5 day workshop there will be 3 evenings where the students will be invited to experience therapeutic psychedelic experiences using cannabis, with or without breathwork. In the weeks after the workshop, when the Americans are on holiday, we will meet for integration, delve deeper into the topic of music and start talking more about trauma in psychedelic work .

April-May 2025 – therapeutic work with trauma

In these months we will continue with MM to learn about working with trauma, and we will finish with lectures from local experts. We will deepen the knowledge about trauma, how it appears in psychedelic therapy and what to do with it when it appears. We will learn tools from the world of mindfulness, somatic therapy and other less familiar approaches that are suitable for use in psychedelic therapy .

June 2025 – closing the circle

In June we will bring local experts to get to know the Israeli scene better and learn how to adapt the approaches to the Israeli public.

July 2025 – Summing up

During the month of July there will be a presentation of student works, a summary meeting and a course graduation ceremony with the distribution of certificates in the middle of the month .

* There may be changes in the program.
